The Stamp Shop Publishes Ngo's 1998 Supplement Dateline: 11/30/98 The Stamp Shop, managed by Alfredo Roxas, recently released Ngo's Catalogue of Philippine Republic Stamps 1998 Supplement. The booklet, authored by Dr. Ngo Tiong Tak, lists all 1997 issues, price update for 1946-1996 issues, and includes a new section for small panes as well as a checklist of SPECIMEN stamps issued from 1978 to 1997. Dr. Ngo, a primemover in mainstream Philippine Philately, published the 1997 Catalogue of Philippine Republic Stamps and Postal Stationeries last year which boosted the interest of Philippine stamp collectors at an all-time high, not only locally but also abroad. The Catalogue, also published by The Stamp Shop, features a complete and accurate listing covering all issues since the first set in 1946. Aside from that, it discussed beforehand the idiosyncracy of Philippine stamps in terms of watermark, first-day cancels, and printing among other things. The book, 216 pages, also includes a 14-page Appendix featuring First-Day Cancellations, a cross reference list of Ngo's and Scott's Numbers and an extensive glossary.
